Eligibility & Residency Rules
- Minimum age: 25+ for general tiers, 21+ for SEZ programs.
- No longer requires minimum income or liquid assets declaration.
- Minimum 90-day stay per year: Required for applicants aged 25–49; can be fulfilled by any family member.
- Exemption for all if principal is 50+.
Dependents include spouse, children up to 34 (if unmarried/unemployed), parents/in-laws (60+), disabled children (no age limit).
Fixed Deposit & Withdrawal
- 50% of the fixed deposit can be withdrawn after 1 year for approved purposes: property, education, medical care, tourism. A minimum balance must be retained afterward.
- Examples: Silver → USD 150K deposit; ~USD 75K withdrawable.
- Early property resale (within 10-year lock-in) requires visa cancellation.
Medical & Conduct Requirements
- Clean criminal record certificate required from all adult applicants/dependents.
- Medical check-up in Malaysia plus valid medical insurance required for applicants under 60. Exemptions possible for pre-existing conditions or advanced age.
